Before you begin

Make sure:

Your device runs Android 8.0 or newer.
Your Pledger.io server is running and accessible from your phone.
You know the server’s public HTTPS address, for example https://money.example.com.
You have a username and password. The Android app cannot create users, so use the web app to create a user first.

Use the five tabs at the bottom of the app:

Tab	Use it to
Dashboard	See net worth, monthly activity, and recent transactions.
Transactions	Browse transactions by month and add or edit a transaction.
Budgets	Create a monthly budget and track expense groups.
Accounts	Review balances and manage your accounts and counterparties.
Reports	Explore income, expenses, categories, budgets, net worth, and account balances.

Tap the settings icon in the top-right corner of any main tab to open Settings.

Accounts

Pledger.io separates accounts you own from the people and organizations you exchange money with.

Account kind	Examples
Owned	Checking, savings, cash, credit card, loan, mortgage, or investment account.
Creditor	A shop, utility company, landlord, or anyone you pay.
Debtor	An employer, customer, friend, or anyone who pays you.

The account types available on your device come from your Pledger.io server.

Browse accounts

Open the Accounts tab.
Choose a filter:
- All shows your own accounts and a way to browse parties.
- Owned shows accounts you control, grouped by type.
- Parties shows creditors and debtors.
In Parties, use search to find a person or organization.
Tap an account to see its balance, details, and recent transactions.

Pull down to refresh. Long lists load more entries as you scroll.

Transactions

Browse transactions

Open the Transactions tab.
Use the arrows beside the month to move between months.
Choose All, Income, or Expense.
Open the filters to narrow the list by category, expense group, or contract.
Tap a transaction to view its amount, account flow, classifications, splits, and tags.

Pull down to refresh. More transactions load as you scroll.

Budgets and reports

Set up your first budget

If you already created a budget in the web app, open Budgets to view it. Otherwise:

Open the Budgets tab.
In Start your first budget, choose the start month and year.
Enter your expected Monthly net income after tax.
Tap Create budget.

Pledger.io creates the monthly budget period. You can then add expense groups for the areas you want to control.

Settings and offline use

Open Settings with the gear icon in the top-right corner of a main tab.

Change app preferences

Setting	Options or behavior
Language	System default, English, Dutch, or German.
Display currency	Select the currency used for combined figures. Available currencies come from your server.
Theme	System default, Light, or Dark.
Finance experience	Guided keeps advanced controls collapsed; Power opens them by default.
Notifications	Not yet configurable; the setting is marked as coming in a future update.

The app restarts its screen when you change the language.
